HISTORY OF OUR FACULTY(FKEE)

The Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering UMP was established in January 2002(formerly known as Kolej Kejuruteraan & Teknologi Malaysia KUKTEM). The prime objective of this faculty is to become a renowned centre of excellence for academics as well as skills and competency training in the field.

Now, the faculty is going ahead to work with some partner from certain industries to serve as a catalyst in the developments of industry such as through technology transfer programs, staff exchange programs, staff training and other services which related to the five areas mentioned before. We hope that our faculty will become an important center of reference for industry in the future where many innovative research products and expert services will be initiated from here.

To achieve the objectives, here we offer various engineering programs in electrical and electronics and that combined both academics and applied skills or 'hands-on' at degree and also diploma level. The programs which are offered here are focusing on several areas in Electronics Engineering such as Control and Instrumentations, Power Systems, Computer Systems and Networks, Industrial Automation Systems, Electro-Mechanical as well as Electronics itself.

Since our university is located in the East Coast Industrial Corridor of Peninsular Malaysia, we are more focused in the area of chemical, petrochemical and manufacturing industry.

We are in the process to establish research and development activities in certain areas that already recognized. Anyway, the research will be focused on applied research in those areas.
We believe that research activities are very important for us in order to enhance our knowledge in this area and to produce engineers who can fit all the needs of the relevant industries locally as well as abroad.
